The best fish and chips in Horsforth (and probably wider). Consistently good.
Amazing quality of fish and chips and whoever washes up does a fantastic job.
Very inconsistent which is disappointing. Occasionally have very nice fish and chips from this shop but other times it is ridiculously greasy with under cooked chips. I would not recommend because it appears it depends on the day (and probably who is cooking).
I have been using Hartleys several times since the last review was made. No complain so far, tasty fish and decent chips . Saturday 21st of July 2018 - Uneatable food. Whoever was working behind the fryers that night is unable to cook chips properly, not to mention the fish. That employee made 5 undercooked fish and chips in front of me. But he seemed more concerned about the clock that the fishes (how can you be looking at a clock so much while working a couple hours a day?) The chips havent been drained of the oil, to the point I had puddles of oil all over. Being a regular customer, Ive mentioned to the counter lady that the food was not cooked enough, to which she simply answered its fried as if I was complaining about frozen chips . Mr Hartley, consistency is key... You must know this yourself... Unfortunately Ill have to avoid the place when I see this employees face because that was 6.30 in the bin. I could not eat this.
Ordered meat pie chips and gravy,got back in car it was chicken pie ,chips full of black bits and not even in a tray,rubbish
