Wonderful staff. Our dog genuinely enjoys visiting and staying over. Its a small business so I feel the dogs get some quality one to one time each day. It was recommended to us by friends and I would certainly recommend to mine.
The best would not go anywhere else.
I've stayed in worse hotels than this and I'm not a dog. Run by genuinely nice "dog" people who appear to be kept in check by a big black cat who spends his days lounging around the office. It doesn't look the fanciest but it is the best kennel we've used, will definitely use in the future.
We used Clayton Cottage for a few months when we first got our dog, but never felt entirely comfortable. Due to their insurance they could only socialise our dog with one of the staff dogs when they walked her around the compound, and cannot put her into a run with any other dogs of similar age, size or temperament.When dropping our dog off if there are no staff on the front desk we were required to put her into a crate in a side room. Quite often we would go in and there were half a dozen other dogs sitting in crates, crying and shaking and looking miserable. We have no idea how long they were left there. Similarly when the staff finished for the day they would put the dogs back into the crates. For all we know they could have been there for hours. The sole benefit of Clayton Cottage is convenience - they're local and available, but they wouldn't even be our 2nd choice of kennels if we were going away. Our dog was much happier when we moved her to another kennels, and we wouldn't consider going back until they changed some of their policies.
I really like this place. Great customer service, flexible and I trust them with my world (my dog).
